Will there be any 310 last boots? Any shell cordovan? I am about to place a custom order … actually in the process of talking to Morgan. Thanks much
There is Shell cordovan coming for the site but not this coming round of stock.
The ones going up next week are all CXL service boots on the 2030 last. They have our new counter pocket, which is a bit more refined.
If we were to do 310 last, what would be the ideal color or make up you would want to see?
Thanks for the reply. I am trying to get myself a pair of 310 service boots with black horsehide leather – the kind of shiny finish similar to the boots you did for VMC 25th anniversary. I am thinking of doing double leather midsole and a brogue toe cap, 310 last with your modified 8 eyelet top. and two piece outsole. A friend of mine (a repeat customer of yours) is highly interested in the same make, and we are just waiting for more information on if black horsehide is indeed available to discuss other details such as lining, stitching etc. If black HH is not available, I think I will either choose icy mocha cxl 310 last boots, or wait for your new cordovan footwear, assuming these are dressier boots with smooth shiny finish.
I absolutely like the amazing craftsmanship of your products!
The horse in 310 last is very difficult as the leather doesn’t bend around the shape. We just did some for VMC with cats paw half sole and heels. In black. Japanese horse is the easiest to use.
When we do a 310 for the site it will be the basic one, as it will appeal to more people than making it custom.
If you have further questions you can email Morgan at firstname.lastname@example.org
Yea that makes a lot of sense. I have owned several pairs of ma+ and guidi boots that used horse leather, and I have to say the leather (which I assume is supplied by guidi) is kind thin and soft compared to some others I have seen.
I heard Japanese shell cordovan is not very good for making boots, but I have no idea about their horsehide. Do you mind if I ask what leather you used for the VMC boots? These look stunning and for a moment I confused them with cordovan.
Will be looking forward to your website new arrivals. Keep up the good work, Sir!
